Atlanta Falcons fuel high school girls’ flag football in Alabama with 10 new grants

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The Atlanta Falcons and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation are bringing more of the game of girls’ flag football to Alabama.

The organizations announced that they have provided grants to 10 Alabama high schools to establish the sport for this upcoming season.

The Falcons brought the world of girls’ flag football to Alabama in 2021.

Four years later, there are more than 130 Alabama high schools that will offer girls’ flag football as a varsity sport.

Full list of the 10 Alabama high schools receiving grants to establish girls’ flag football programs in 2025:

Alabama Christian Academy - Montgomery

American Christian Academy - Tuscaloosa

Athens High School - Athens

Chickasaw High School - Chickasaw

Elmore County High School - Eclectic

I3 Academy High School - Birmingham

Linden High School - Linden

Saraland High School - Saraland

St. John Paul II High School - Huntsville

Talladega High School - Talladega

On Saturday, May 32, 2025, the Falcons will host a free girls flag football clinic focused on skills, drills and fundamentals at Legio Field in Birmingham from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
