One Big Change Helped Bills Dalton Kincaid

Buffalo Bills former first round tight end Dalton Kincaid has always had high hopes to get over the hump in the AFC playoffs. After a successful first season, though, the Utah product struggled mightily in his sophomore campaign.

A big reason for the drop in production came due to injuries. Kincaid had a knee injury he battled for most of the year that left his receiving prowess wanting more.

Buffalo believes they have taken steps to help Kincaid improve on the physical side. And not just by simply demanding Kincaid get stronger over the middle of the field.

Will Greenberg, a trainer for the team and well celebrated in the locker room was promoted to head strength and training coach. It's Greenberg's impact on Kincaid that has given the tight end new hope he can get back to the elite level of play he was used to putting out.

So far, early returns are impressive.

“I’ve never really dealt with that type of injury, knees and stuff,” Kincaid said. “Spent a lot of time with Will... So got to spend most of the offseason (in Buffalo) just kind of figuring all that out. And then as you got out on the field, you got to learn how to navigate that as well.

"So I feel pretty good where I’m at right now. Obviously, I like to look at it like day to day as opposed to long term. So long term, it’s huge strides, as opposed to day to day. In the grand scheme of things, I feel like I’ve come a long way health wise, which is huge.”

A healthy Kincaid can become one of the better receiving targets in the league. Keeping him healthy will be the trick.

If Greenberg can work a miracle here, though, the Bills will be even better than expected in 2025.
