Would the Jordan Bulls beat the best NBA teams of 2025?

Bigger. Stronger. Better trained. More advanced.

A generation after the Jordan Bulls did their thing, one would imagine NBA players are, on the whole, superior in at least some ways to their forebears from the 1990s.

So, in this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X, we asked who would win in a best-of-seven series: the 72-10 Bulls of 1995-96 or today’s Thunder, the favorite to win the Finals.

What are we, nuts?

“I can’t believe this is even a discussion,” @AMiller31 commented.

“With Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, they cannot be beat,” @ronw_sportsnut wrote.

Next, we asked which division rival is the biggest threat to the Cubs this season.

“Remember that posse Butch and Sundance couldn’t shake?” @RonaldVoigt4 asked. “That’s the Cardinals.”

Last, we wanted to know what was the most you ever forked over for a ticket to a sporting event.

Wrote @00723maui, “$2,500 a ticket to see the Blackhawks win the 2015 Stanley Cup — and worth every penny!”

On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: Who would win a best-of-seven mythical matchup between the 1995-96 Bulls and the 2024-25 Thunder?

Upshot: Just wondering, does this mean the 1985 Bears would have their way with last season’s Eagles? Because, uh, no.

Poll No. 2: Which team will prove to be the biggest threat to the Cubs in the National League Central?

Upshot: The red-hot Redbirds were on an 18-5 tear entering a weekend series against the Rangers. Maybe it’s time for Cubs-Cardinals to steal back some thunder from Cubs-Brewers.

Poll No. 3: What’s the most you’ve ever spent on a ticket to a sporting event?

Upshot: More than $200? No, thanks. That’s why God invented Pringles and remote controls.
