6 Veterans Reportedly Missed Recent Titans OTAs

The Tennessee Titans completely overhauled their roster this offseason after a brutal three-win campaign in 2024. New general manager Mike Borgonzi swung big in free agency and made several moves in the draft to acquire nine total picks in the event.

Quarterback Cam Ward -- the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft -- was the crown jewel of the offseason for Tennessee. However, the team added a handful of solid veterans in the open market, as well a slew of exciting prospects in the draft.

As Phase 3 of the offseason program began this past week, unfortunately, not every piece of the puzzle was there for the Titans at OTAs.

While these workouts are technically optional at this stage of the offseason, it is generally a good indicator to have a strong veteran presence. Experienced players commonly sit out if they are injured or unhappy with their contract situations.

Unfortunately, the Titans had several players missing at practice on Wednesday, for varying reasons.

Both Sneed and Cushenberry were at the team facility as they continue to rehab from injuries that caused them to miss significant time last year. So, their absence is not incredibly noteworthy.

However, it was a bit shocking to see that Lockett, Zeitler, Sweat and Simmons were all absent for no disclosed reason. Lockett and Zeitler were just signed this offseason by the franchise, and both Sweat and Simmons are pivotal pieces of the Titans' defense.

There is no reason to panic, as these workouts are optional for a reason. However, offseason workouts can be critical for a franchise trying to turn things around.
