Florian Wirtz of Bayer 04 Leverkusen looks on

forward line could look very different by the time next season rolls around. The Reds may be the reigning Premier League champions but it's not stopping rumours from swirling about new signings who may be about to move to Anfield.
Before the end of the season, Liverpool agreed contract extensions with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk. The Reds now know that two of their key figures in the team will be around for Arne Slot's second season as the club's head coach.
There will be no Trent Alexander-Arnold next season, though. Liverpool confirmed that a deal had been agreed with Real Madrid for the right-back to join the La Liga club on Sunday, when the transfer window opens, a month before his contract expires. The deal is thought to be worth around £10million.
When it comes to new signings, though, several names are already towards the top of the list. Jeremie Frimpong has been signed from Bayer Leverkusen, while Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
The signings of Frimpong and Kerkez would see Liverpool revamp their full-back options in one summer. And it seems a similar rebuild could take place in the forward areas.
Even though Salah will be staying put for next season, the rest of the forward line could welcome new signings. Florian Wirtz is a target for Liverpool, with the Reds submitting a second bid worth up to £109million for the Leverkusen talent.
Wirtz is capable of playing in several positions across the final third as well as in an advanced midfield role.
Liverpool have also been linked with signing a new striker during the summer transfer window. Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with the Reds in recent days amid continued reports that he's likely to join a new club this summer.
Portuguese news outlet A Bola claimed last week that Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal are the three clubs Gyokeres likes the most as he mulls over he next move - which is bound to be one of the blockbuster transfers of the summer should he decide to leave his current club.
Gyokeres has a 100million (£84million) release clause in his contract but is reported to be available for around £60million. If Liverpool were to agree a deal for Gyokeres, he would likely take up a place as the club's new centre forward.
This would then create question marks over the futures of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota. Both players have been tentatively linked with moves away from Anfield over the last few months.
On the left wing, Liverpool currently have Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz as their current options. Both Gakpo and Diaz have also been mentioned as potentially heading for the exit door this summer, but it would be a major surprise if the club would sanction the exits of both players, as well as one.
