Man Utd add Yann Aurel Bisseck to target list, Inter Milan ace could replace defensive duo

Manchester United are considering a defensive target ahead of the summer transfer window after tracking Inter Milan’s Yann Aurel Bisseck.

It’s bound to be a busy summer for Manchester United after enduring such a turbulent 2024/25 campaign on the pitch.

Ruben Amorim became United’s head coach in November before results worsened during his first six months in charge. The former Sporting CP coach, who won two Portuguese titles, has promised that results will improve next season.

Ineos must help Amorim achieve that by strengthening the squad now that the season has ended. United have announced that three players will depart, and a further 10 could follow them this summer.

Among the three confirmed departures are Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof. It begs the question of whether United need to sign a new centre-back or if Amorim is well-equipped already in that department.

It may depend on whether Lisandro Martinez will be back in time for the start of the 2025/26 season.

Manchester United eye move for Yann Aurel Bisseck

Amorim will want to bolster many areas of the United first team ahead of next season.

United are set to prioritise attacking signings because of their struggles in front of goal over the past two seasons.

Some United fans could argue that a new goalkeeper and midfielder are needed too, but reports suggest Amorim may also look to add to his defensive department with a new centre-back.

According to Italian outfit FCInterNews, United consider Bisseck to be among their targets in defence.

The German defender joined Inter from Danish club Aarhus in 2023 and has since become a key figure in the Nerazzurri starting eleven.

It is also reported that Inter are not pushing Bisseck out the door this summer, which means they are not under any pressure to lose the 24-year-old defender.

Bisseck has made 68 appearances for Inter across all competitions and started both legs against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final tie against Barcelona.

What’s next for Bisseck?

After beating Barcelona in the Champions League final, Bisseck has a chance to win the European Cup when he takes on Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday night.

Inter missed out on the Serie A title after Scott McTominay inspired Napoli to glory with a wonderful volley in the season finale.

The Champions League final could be Bisseck’s final appearance for Inter.

Andre Onana made his final competitive fixture for Inter in a Champions League final before losing to Man City and joining United.
