Barcelona have confirmed that young defender Hector Fort has undergone surgery following the end of the 2024-25 season.
The right-back has gone under the knife in a bid to cure some respiratory issues that have affected him throughout the campaign.
Here’s Barcelona’s official statement:
“Héctor Fort has undergone nasal septum surgery to address the respiratory issues and chronic congestion that have affected him throughout the season. His expected recovery time is four weeks.”
Fort had something of a frustrating campaign but did feature a little more in the final weeks of the season.
He ended up making 20 appearances for Hansi Flick’s side in all competitions and will be hoping for more in the coming campaign.
There has been speculation that Fort could move on in the summer, but it’s thought that he is eager to stay and not willing to listen to any offers to move.
