Everton could potentially have an opportunity to sign Sheffield United midfielder Gustavo Hamer in the upcoming transfer window.
The Toffees finished 13th in the Premier League this season after beating Newcastle United at St James’ Park on 25 May.
With the Blues getting their highest finish in the English top flight in four years, The Friedkin Group (TFG) must now back David Moyes next summer to make further progress.
Hamer has been linked with a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium after missing out on promotion with the Blades, and his exit may be on the cards.

Sheffield United exit inevitable after Everton transfer interest in Hamer
Hamer’s exit from Sheffield United is inevitable after Sheffield United missed out on Premier League promotion, according to Lee Hendrie.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
The Sky Sports pundit believes the 27-year-old will be prised away from the Blades in the upcoming transfer window, with the Toffees one of the teams interested in him.
Competition Appearances Goals Assists
Championship 41 9 7
Championship play-offs 3 1 1
Hamer’s Championship record this season.
Hendrie feels the Dutch midfielder has already played his final game for the South Yorkshire outfit, losing to Sunderland in the play-offs final at Wembley on 24 May.
Speaking to Football League World (30 May), the ex-Villa star said: “If they could keep [Hamer], it would be fantastic for the football club, but I think he will go in the summer. I think someone will prise him from Sheffield United.
“This is the problem for them. They’ve got some good players, and they’ve recruited well in the past few seasons, but when you don’t get promoted, the inevitable happens.
“These players are in the Championship for another season, and when you get linked, which Hamer will do, I think that will be his last season in a Blades shirt, which is unfortunate as they’re a fantastic club and he has been brilliant for them.”

Moyes to push for midfield transfer at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Moyes will be without Abdoulaye Doucoure from the start of next season, with the Mali international playing a key role under the Scottish manager.
Idrissa Gueye is expected to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium with the Toffees after speculation around his future due to his expiring contract.
James Garner has also been ever-present in the middle of the park for the Blues in the current campaign, and fans will hope he’s gotten over his fitness issues.
Everton has also confirmed Carlos Alcaraz’s permanent signing after an initial loan from Flamengo in the winter transfer window.
Harrison Armstrong is also set to return from his loan from Derby County, and Moyes may give the youngster an opportunity to shine.
The Merseyside outfit have turned the tide since the Scottish manager’s arrival, and fans will now expect the former West Ham United boss to win silverware.
After being knocked out early in the Carabao and FA Cup this season, supporters will want to see the Toffees challenging for those titles.
The Blues will undoubtedly need a deep squad to compete on all fronts, and Hamer would evidently be a decent addition.
