Incoming Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has informed a pair of the club’s most highly-regarded up-and-coming talents of his plans to call them up for the upcoming Club World Cup.
That’s according to **[Diario AS](https://as.com/futbol/primera/xabi-recluta-a-diego-aguado-y-fortea-n/)**, who point towards Diego Aguado and Jesús Fortea as the players in question.
Aguado, for his part, is an 18-year-old defender, who generally lines out in a central role, but is also capable of taking to the pitch at left-back.
Fortea, meanwhile, also 18, is a gifted right-back who recently made the step up to Real Madrid C.
Both players, in particular Fortea, have been tipped as potential future first-team stars, drafted into Carlo Ancelotti’s senior squad on several occasions this past season as a result.
And as alluded to above, the defensive duo have evidently already done enough to pique the interest of the next installment on the Santiago Bernabéu bench, too.
As per a report from AS:
‘Xabi Alonso has let Aguado and Fortea know that he’s counting on them. He wants them in the Club World Cup.’
