Falcons fielding offers for former Pro Bowler

When the Atlanta Falcons selected Kyle Pitts with the No. 4 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, expectations were that he would be the next great tight end for the organization. But things haven’t exactly panned out that way. And now, Pitts may very well be on the move to another team.

Pitts came out of the gate hot in his career, recording 68 receptions for 1,026 yards and one touchdown in his rookie season, which was enough for him to be named a Pro Bowler.

Unfortunately, in the three years following his rookie season, Pitts has failed to come anywhere close to that level of production. The most receiving yards he has recorded in a season since has been 667, which came in 2023.

At just 24 years of age, there is still plenty of time for Pitts to figure things out and turn around his career. But with just one year left on his rookie deal, it is now in question whether this career resurgence will come in Atlanta or not.

According to Fox NFL insider Jordan Schultz, multiple teams have reached out to the Falcons about trading for Pitts, though the Falcons would reportedly like to keep him if they can. However, according to Schultz, the Falcons would seemingly be interested in making a deal that involved at least a Day 2 pick in the draft.

Nothing is imminent, and Atlanta would prefer to keep him — but I’m told it would take at least a Day 2 pick to even spark serious talks. pic.twitter.com/smNLgOcBow

Pitts has shown to be an athletic freak at his position. So despite his lack of production, there is likely quite a bit of interest around the NFL for his services should the Falcons opt to move off of him. So it will certainly be interesting to see if Pitts is moved at some point or not.
