Eagles Trade Savings Keys Trey Hendrickson Dream Move

The Philadelphia Eagles have moved on from former $51 million edge rusher Bryce Huff this offseason. The organization is trading Huff to the San Francisco 49ers as reported Friday afternoon.

As part of the deal, the Eagles add a late round pick to their 2026 draft haul, but also save over $15 million in salary cap space according to Field Yates of ESPN.

That $15 million saving list is impressive. It essentially gives the Eagles more room to do whatever they want at this point in the offseason. If they want to sign a player, they have plenty of space to do that.

If they want to go out and trade for a star like All-Pro edge rusher Trey Hendrickson, they have the resources to do exactly that. They even have room to simply push all their money to 2026 and extend some of their younger talent that will be up for extensions next season.

Stars like Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, and many others are in need of new deals. An extra $15 million can certainly help with that.

An acquisition for a top player like Hendrickson could be huge for the team, though.

The Cincinnati Bengals edge rusher has recorded 17 sacks in each of the last two years. He wants a long-term contract with whichever team is willing to pay for it.

If the Eagles want to maximize their title window, they now have the cap space to bring in a player like Hendrickson.

No matter what they do, though, Philadelphia seems to be in great shape.
