Real Madrid have become the latest club to be linked with a move for Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to AS, Los Blancos have been in contact with Garcia’s agent to let him know they are in his thoughts.
The suggestion is that Madrid could try and sign Garcia if Andriy Lunin is sold this summer, although it’s acknowledged that he may well have already moved before that happens.
Garcia is currently said to considering his future after receiving proposals from Barcelona as well as several other clubs.
One thing that seems crucial in his decision-making is that Garcia will only move if he’s going to be first choice.
Barcelona are said to be willing to put Marc-Andre ter Stegen up for sale if they are successful in securing Garcia’s signature which may help him decide.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid currently have Thibaut Courtois as No. 1 and Lunin as the back-up. The club are said to be willing to sell Lunin if decent offers arrive.
