Leeds United are back in the Premier League and fans are eagerly awaiting the new season kicking off in August.
Daniel Farke's men dominated the EFL Championship in the 2024/25 season alongside Burnley, racking up an impressive 100 points over 46 matches. It was a gruelling campaign for the Whites, but they've now reaped the rewards with a place in English football's top tier following last season's gut-wrenching defeat to Southampton in the playoff final.
Attention will now turn towards the summer transfer window, which opens on Sunday, June 1, this year due to the FIFA Club World Cup. Below are some of the latest Whites headlines as well as a view on each one....
Playmaker 'bid'
Leeds are reportedly preparing a bid of just under £17million to sign Emi Buendia from Aston Villa. *Mercato*claims that Buendia has long been on Leeds’ radar with the Argentine having worked with Farke during their time together at Norwich City.
Buendia, in recent years, has struggled for consistent minutes at Villa, spending the last six months of last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen.
LeedsLive says: "This is a no-brainer for Leeds if they can agree a deal. £17m might be a steep price, but Buendia is an incredible talent who has Premier League experience."
Tezgel 'interest'
Leeds are being linked with a move for Stoke City star Emre Tezgel.
TEAMtalk claims that the Potters are pushing to tie Tezgel down to a new contract. However, reported lucrative offers from Turkey, Leeds United, and other English clubs, as well as interest from an unnamed Scottish side, are complicating negotiations.
LeedsLive says: "If they can sign Tezgel for a relatively cheap fee, then it might be worth a gamble, but Leeds need top-flight experience and would be better off going for someone like Callum Wilson instead."
