Don Goodman has delivered his verdict on Leeds United’s potential transfer strategy for the upcoming window.
The Whites secured promotion to the Premier League and are looking for top-flight calibre signings to avoid relegation.
Daniel Farke will be tasked with keeping Leeds in the English top tier after getting a vote of confidence from the board.

Jack Rudoni warned against sealing Elland Road transfer
The Elland Road outfit are eyeing attacking reinforcements this summer, despite Joel Piroe winning the Championship Golden Boot this past season.
However, that’s not the only position they are interested in strengthening, as a new midfielder signing appears to be on the cards too.

Goodman, a Sky Sports pundit, has reacted to reports linking them with a move for Coventry City central midfielder Jack Rudoni.
Jack Rudoni’s 2024/25 Championship statistics Total
Appearances 43
Goals 9
Expected goals (xG) 7.49
Assists 12
Touches 58.3
Accurate passes 28.4 (81%)
Rudoni has had an exemplary season.
It’s understood that Leeds are keen on Rudoni, who will cost £15million in the coming weeks.
Goodman has urged the 23-year-old to stay put at Coventry as they will be challenging for the title next season.
On the other hand, he does not see him getting regular game time in West Yorkshire should he move there.
Goodman told Football League World: “I understand the interest and would understand the interest from Jack Rudoni’s perspective of playing in the Premier League.
“I do think Coventry will be really positive in the summer and Jack Rudoni is playing for his boyhood hero under Frank Lampard. Coventry will show ambition to be at the very top of the Championship next season, whereas if he goes to Leeds United, will he get the game time? That would be a question.
“You obviously have to back yourself and have confidence In your own ability as a player and I’m sure he would do that.
“I can understand temptation, but I’d be thinking very carefully about it.”

Leeds may not give Rudoni regular game time in the Premier League
Rudoni is undeniably talented, showcasing his creativity and goal-scoring ability.
If he signs for Leeds United for their 2025/26 Premier League campaign, his versatility to play as an attacking midfielder, deeper midfielder, or winger could secure him a squad role under Farke.
However, Leeds need Premier League-calibre midfielders to ensure survival and Rudoni’s lack of top-flight experience raises doubts about his readiness.
Despite comparisons to Frank Lampard for his box-to-box energy and chance creation, pundits like Goodman question whether he’d secure regular game time at Leeds, given the step-up in competition.
While Rudoni’s potential is immense, he may be limited to a rotational role, as Leeds prioritise proven Premier League talent to avoid relegation.
If game time is the priority for him, then he’d be best suited to stay put at Coventry for another season.
