Harvey Elliott has rejected a potential move from Liverpool to Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider.

The midfielder could leave Anfield this summer in a huge shake-up of Arne Slot’s title-winning squad.

Forest are among the clubs to have an active interest in Elliott, with his future on Merseyside in doubt going into the summer window.

However, it is believed Elliott does not want to join Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side as they do not suit his playing style.

Forest are renowned for their counter-attacking style and deep defensive block, while Elliott sees himself as being better suited to a more possession-based team where he can express his creative talents.

Elliott’s future could hinge on Anfield arrivals

As reported by Football Insider (30 May), Elliott could be the victim of Liverpool’s aggressive transfer strategy this summer, with further reinforcements casting doubt over the 22-year-old’s Anfield future.

Having secured one Bayer Leverkusen player in Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool are also in advanced talks with Florian Wirtz after the midfielder rejected Bayern Munich and are also expected to complete the signing of Milos Kerkez in the next few days.

Wirtz’s potential arrival would bump Elliott further down the pecking order on Merseyside, meaning a move away might be the England Under-21 International’s best hope of first-team football.

However, while Football Insider exclusively revealed Forest’s interest in Elliott, the move has been knocked back by the young midfielder.

Keeper Kelleher set for Anfield exit

Another player seemingly heading for the door marked ‘exit’ at Anfield is goalkeeper Caomhin Kelleher, as he looks to move on from the role of understudy at Anfield.

The Reds blocked a potential move last summer, but with Giorgi Mamardashvili joining Liverpool ahead of next season, Kelleher is finally free to depart.

One possible destination is Brentford, amid rumours that current Bees number one Mark Flekken could be joining Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Liverpool’s second-choice stopper is valued at around £20million, and is about to enter the final year of his contract.
