Report: Daniel Levy refusing to respond to Everton interest in Tottenham forward for one reason

Everton are looking to get up and running early in the summer transfer window.

The Toffees have already seen that the clubs around them are looking to steal a march by securing agreements ahead of the market even opening.

David Moyes has been promised the funds at Everton to bolster his squad with quality for the 2025/26 campaign.

But Everton are experiencing some stern competition in the race to land some of their top targets.

Plenty of new faces are going to be needed around Finch Farm with Moyes approving the exit of numerous out-of-contract players.

Everton were already looking to sign a new winger and will potentially have to add even more now following Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom’s exits.

The Friedkins are now being put on hold by Tottenham Hotspur in the pursuit of one of their forwards.

Why Tottenham won’t respond to Everton’s interest in their forward

Everton are showing an interest in re-signing Richarlison this summer with his future under serious questioning.

But he is not the only Spurs player of interest on Merseyside as Everton also like Manor Solomon following his impressive stint with Leeds United.

According to the Daily Mail, any decision needing to be made on Solomon’s future will likely be left until Spurs decide on Ange Postecoglou’s own future.

Despite winning the Europa League for the first time in 41 years in north London, the Australian’s seat in N17 is in doubt after a dreadful league campaign.

Tottenham are open to selling Solomon, but it is apparent they have more pressing matters on the agenda currently.

With players and managers attempting to enjoy a summer break before they return to action, interesting weeks lie ahead of the Lilywhites.

What happens in north London will be of real interest to Everton considering their interest in the likes of Solomon and Richarlison.

It is also believed Tottenham would sell Richarlison for around £40m this summer after another injury-stricken campaign for the Brazilian.

Everton face competition from Leeds for Solomon

Following his campaign out on loan in Yorkshire, Solomon is open to returning to Leeds this summer.

This could prove a real battle between the two clubs over a number of targets shared by both recruitment teams.

Everton and Leeds are also battling for Gustavo Hamer who could be set to make the jump up to the Premier League from Sheffield United.

But it does not end there.

Leeds and Everton also share interest in Sean Longstaff with the midfielder’s time at Newcastle United coming to an end.

It has to be said, though, in the battle for Solomon, it may well be the Whites who hold the upper hand.
