Less than a week on from winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Leah Williamson, Beth Mead and Chloe Kelly were back to work at Wembley Stadium for England’s big 6-0 win over Portugal.
Mead made it 4-0 while Kelly, coming off the bench, got the final goal of the game when she headed into the back of the net from Mead’s cross.
Michelle Agyemang and Lotte Wubben-Moy were unused substitutes, while Alessia Russo was not included in the matchday squad.
Aggie Beever-Jones scored a first-half hat-trick, with one of her goals assisted by Williamson’s beautiful through-ball, and Lucy Bronze got the only other goal of the game as the Lionesses cruised to a six-point lead over Portugal in League A Group 3 of the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
They remain second in the group, two points shy of Spain, who Mariona Caldentey got an assist for in Friday’s 5-1 win away to Belgium.
Our super Spaniard pulled the strings in midfield, allowing Esther Gonzalez to open the scoring in the 36th minute, going into the break with a one-goal lead.
Gonzalez got her brace 19 minutes into the second half, followed by two goals from Athenea del Castillo and one from Alba Redondo before a late consolation goal for Belgium by Tine De Caigny.
Laia Codina wasn’t included in the matchday squad.
England and Spain will go head-to-head at 6pm BST on Tuesday, June 3 for their final Nations League game before the Euros.
Katie McCabe recovered from her jubilant Champions League celebrations to play 90 minutes for Republic of Ireland in their 2-1 win away to Turkey, Ireland coming from behind to earn three points courtesy of a Busem Seker own goal and a late winner from Emily Murphy.

They’re now second in League B Group 2, nine points clear of Turkey and three behind leaders Slovenia, who they host at 6pm on Tuesday.
Frida Maanum was involved for all 90 minutes of Norway’s 1-1 draw at home to Iceland, the hosts rescuing a point by forcing a late own goal. It was an important one too, with Norway remaining one position and one point ahead of Iceland in League A Group 2 of the Nations League.
Daphne van Domselaar wasn’t named in the squad for Netherlands’ 4-0 defeat away to Germany, but Victoria Pelova was, coming on at half-time in a loss that succumbed them to second in League A Group 1, three points behind Germany and four ahead of Austria.
Speaking of which, Manuela Zinsberger kept a clean sheet for Austria in a 1-0 win away to Scotland, and she made some key saves to hold onto all three points.
There was less to celebrate for Switzerland as they lost 4-0 away to France, with Lia Walti playing the first half of the match. They’re bottom of League A Group 2 with just two points from five matches.
Our Australian trio of Steph Catley, Kyra Cooney-Cross and Caitlin Foord were all unused substitutes in Australia’s 2-0 friendly win against Argentina, while Stina Blackstenius, as well as departing Gunners Amanda Ilestedt and Lina Hurtig, were all given a rest for Sweden’s 0-0 draw away to Italy.
