Aston Villa could be set to sign Marco Asensio on a permanent deal ahead of the summer.
The Spaniard joined the Villans on loan in January and played a key role throughout the second half of the campaign.
Ultimately, the impact of the 29-year-old wasn’t enough to bring Champions League football back to B6, but he could be set to make the move regardless.
This could see Asensio agree an exit from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, with a return to Villa Park potentially set to be agreed ahead of the upcoming window.

There is no doubt that the loan addition of the ex-Real Madrid man and Marcus Rashford helped to transform Villa after a mid-season slump.
This somewhat fell off towards the end of the season, but after netting eight times in just 21 appearances, there is no arguing against his impact overall.

That, tied in with his elite winning mentality, could prove to be a no-brainer signing for Unai Emery if a permanent deal can be agreed.
Former Brentford and Leicester City manager Martin Allen believes that the B6 club could afford Asensio’s sizable PSG wages and make him a key part of their squad beyond the summer window.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Allen said: “Eight goals is a very good return in half a season, he’s been a good signing for Aston Villa.
“Could they afford his wages? They probably could at Aston Villa.
“He will be on an awful lot of money at PSG because they can afford to pay it.
“It’s all to play for there, so if I were at Aston Villa, I’d be looking to keep him in and make him a big part of the squad.
“*There are a lot of big deals going on, and Asensio is going to play a big part of their summer.*“

Aston Villa could agree bargain Asensio transfer
Various reports have suggested that the Spaniard could be available for less than £15million as the window prepares to open.
For such a small fee, his wages could prove to be the only problem at Villa Park, but if he is willing to drop his demands, Asesnio could make for an excellent signing.
This could see him come back in as a positive member of the forward line alongside the likes of Morgan Rogers, which can only be seen as a plus for the team as a whole.
