Leeds United will prioritise a new number 10 this summer as they prepare for life in the Premier League. A number of players have been linked with a move to Elland Road, including Jack Rudoni.
The Coventry City playmaker was a revelation in the Sky Blues' run to the Championship play-off semi-final. Rudoni registered 10 goals and 12 assists in 45 appearances as Frank Lampard's side finished in fifth position.
The 23-year-old, a £5m capture from Huddersfield Town last summer, is also reportedly on Newcastle United's transfer radar. Although Rudoni harbours Premier League ambitions, BBC journalist Mantej Mann says Rudoni is enjoying working under Lampard and is happy at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman said: “I understand the interest and would understand the interest from Jack Rudoni’s perspective of playing in the Premier League.
“I do think Coventry will be really positive in the summer and Jack Rudoni is playing for his boyhood hero under Frank Lampard. Coventry will show ambition to be at the very top of the Championship next season, whereas if he goes to Leeds United, will he get the game time? That would be a question.
“You obviously have to back yourself and have confidence In your own ability as a player and I’m sure he would do that. I can understand temptation, but I’d be thinking very carefully about it.”
The summer transfer window will officially open for business tomorrow. The initial trading period will close after just 10 days because of the Club World Cup.
The market will then open again on Monday, June 16 until deadline day on Monday, September 1.
