Bayern Munich are eyeing a move to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze after the success of Michael Olise’s first season in the Bundesliga.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 26-year-old is on Vincent Kompany’s list of attacking targets.

Eze and Olise share a close friendship after their time together at Selhurst Park, and it has been suggested the latter could sell the idea of a move to his former teammate.

Bayern had been pushing to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, before Football Insider revealed Liverpool are closing in on singing Wirtz.

As a result, they have set their sights on alternative targets, and Eze is seen as an ideal fit alongside Olise, Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane in their attacking ranks.

The England international and FA Cup-winning-goal scorer has a £68million release clause in his contract, which has put a number of top clubs on alert.

Eberechi Eze tipped to leave Crystal Palace for Bayern Munich

Brown told Football Insider on 28 April that Eze would reject Man United in favour of a move to Liverpool or Arsenal to play at the top level.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted that a move to Bayern would be the best option for the Palace star.

“Eze is one of the names Bayern are looking at,” he told Football Insider.

“They had a lot of success with Michael Olise coming in from Palace, he’s been terrific for them, so they’re hoping the same might happen with Eze.

“Those two have quite a close relationship as well, so I have no doubt they’ll have spoken about it.

“He’ll sell it to him because he’s clearly enjoyed his time there.

“Having those connections already at a club is always a boost for these type of deals.

“I think the move would suit him, too, he’d have a bit more space to play his game.

“It’s definitely something I think could happen, because they’re looking to strengthen on that left-hand side with Coman and Sane both looking like they’ll leave.

“They’ve got a few targets in mind, and he’s on their list.”

Marc Guehi update emerges after Tottenham latest

Eze is not the only Palace star to be heavily linked with a move away this summer, as Marc Guehi has been subject to constant speculation.

Brown told Football Insider on 29 May that Tottenham will step up their interest in Guehi amid uncertainty surrounding the future of Cristian Romero.

Guehi is seen as the ideal option for Ange Postecoglou’s side, with his experience, leadership and consistency set to provide a calming presence at the back.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 23 May that Romero is expected to leave Tottenham this summer following an injury-plagued season in North London.
