Man United are set to meet with Spanish club next week. There will be discussions about the future of Brazilian star. The player is ready for the next chapter in his career after having a superb comeback to top form.
The star in question here is Antony who United signed for £86 million. The Brazilian was superb at Ajax due to which the Red Devils opted to spend this amount. But, the deal ended in failure as Antony was unable to impress at Old Trafford. As a result, he fell down the pecking order.
Later, United opted to send Antony on loan in January. The player quickly regained his top form after moving away from United. He joined Real Betis and became one of the best wingers in the world. Real Betis are impressed with Antony and are keen to keep him. According to Marca, United will hold talks with Betis next week to discuss about the move. Betis are keen to sign him on another loan. But, United are desperate to sell Antony and raise funds for new signings.
United were said to demand around £30-35 million for Antony. Betis are unable to match these numbers. Hence, they are planning to sign the Brazilian on another loan. But, United do have other options and hence are pushing for permanent sale.
Antony is also wanted by Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone has been impressed with the Brazilian’s superb form in La Liga. In addition, he is now wanted by Bayer Leverkusen who have made Erik Ten Hag their new coach. Lastly, United can also give Antony another chance at the club. However, it is very unlikely to happen.
