Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!
Today, we close out May much the same way we brought it in: There's a lot of talk about quarterbacks while the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Browns throw legal rocks and garbage at each other. Sigh.
Fortunately, you've got me here to document it for you, using the patented Barry Filter to rid ourselves of clickbait and scrap, and hopefully zero in on the valuable bits of news.
In personal news, I'm diving back into Le Grande Coding Project after putting it aside for weeks as I dealt with other matters. One side benefit of this should be my ability to share the responsibility of the Daily Newswire with others so I can take the occasional break without having to put the Massive Morning Missive aside for a week or so. We'll see; I simultaneously want to write more and spend more time on the forums. I'd try to clone myself, but I couldn't stand to be with another me. I'm not sure how my wife puts up with the original.
But, you, Dear Reader, likely don't care about that. You're here to listen to me whine about the sheer volume of aggregated clickbait I have to wade through to produce this thing, as well as hopefully find a link or two of interest among the snide remarks and transparent loathing of the Ratbirds and Yinzers. That's what I produce for you, by hand, every day here at the one and only OBR.
THE DAILY SHEDEUR: Let me lead off by apologizing for yesterday's absence of the Daily Shedeur, the beloved feature of the Newswire that I forgot to produce yesterday in my rush to talk about... well, whatever it is I talked about yesterday. But the DS is back, baby, powered by a bullet list as usual:
? Shedeur. Will Be Browns Day 1 Starter. Former NFL Executive Explains
"It should be Shedeur from Day 1. In my view, Shedeur has more ability and I assume he'd be the guy"

STADIUM SQUABBLES: The legal refuse being tossed between the City of Cleveland and the Cleveland Browns continues apace, as the city postures as "fighting for the team" as the inevitability of JimmyWorld is apparent to everyone else. I'm not sure when I stopped caring much about this. It will get my attention if there's anything that indicates that the Browns' plans will somehow be altered. So far, I haven't seen it:
QB BATTLE: While Shedeurmania continues to surround the Browns, the rest of us can sit back a little, knowing that he was a fifth-round draft pick and is likely #4 on the fictional late-May Cleveland Browns depth chart. It's important to note that three other quarterbacks exist and are on the team:
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Yes, there are four sets of bullet points today as I found a bunch of stuff that's worth reading, but which I didn't feel the need to rant about today. It's notable as an ex-Brown executive makes good up in snowy Minnesota as Andrew Berry is placed on the hot seat by CBS"
Have a good one! GO BROWNS!
