The transfer window isn’t even open yet, but already, Manchester United are very busy.
There is no doubt that the big priority this summer for Ruben Amorim is the attack, with the potential for an entirely new front three looking high.
Manchester United are likely to see 13 players leave this summer, with the vast majority being forward players who have underperformed over the past.
Alejandro Garnacho has been told to leave, while Rasmus Hojlund’s performances are giving United no choice but to move him on and find an upgrade.
In addition, there is confidence that United can sell Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford.
All of these outgoings will clear the way for big-name additions, with one player linked known to United’s head of recruitment, Christopher Vivell.

Manchester United firmly interested in signing Benjamin Sesko
United have already agreed to sign Matheus Cunha this summer, but now Ineos’ agenda has turned toward adding a new elite number nine.
United have missed out on Liam Delap, which could force the Red Devils into signing a more expensive option.

Now, German journalist Christian Falk has told Caught Offside that Benjamin Sesko is still wanted at Old Trafford, despite Arsenal leading the way.
“Arsenal have ceased their recruitment drive and have declared Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyökeres (Sporting Lisbon) as their favourite targets. RB Leipzig are willing to talk for upwards of €70m (£59m), and ideally Sesko should fetch up to €100m (£84m).”
“Despite his young age, the Slovenian is almost complete, has a clear head and is a real team player. He would be an asset to any club. There are already talks with Arsenal.”
Falk then added that United are in the race thanks to Vivell.
“From the Premier League, besides Arsenal also Manchester United are also particularly interested. Christopher Vivell (United’s director of recruitment) was there to watch Sesko at the game in Wolfsburg in mid-April. He once helped discover him and brought the footballer to Salzburg as a 16-year-old in 2019.”
What has Christopher Vivell said about Sesko?
Vivell signed Sesko when he was 16, which is a perfect example of the German’s recruitment and what he is bringing to United.
The Slovenian has developed into a player Vivell loves, as he is quoted by the Bundesliga website as lauding the striker.
“Benjamin Sesko is among the game’s top young talents and has enormous potential to become a top player. He has all the qualities to do that. He’s extremely quick, has a great jump on him, and is strong in the air. Benjamin is a real goalscorer, who despite his 1.95m (6’4″) is mobile and technically strong. His abilities make him a special player with a special profile.”
This same article compared Sesko as a striker with Erling Haaland, who is a striker any club would want to sign.
Sesko scored 21 goals during the 2024-25 season in 45 appearances, and having just turned 22, he is primed to explode as a player wherever he moves this summer. Unfortunately, he will almost certainly be beyond Ineos’ budget.
