Premier League 2024-25 prize money - Newcastle United's earning compared to Aston Villa

A tense final day of the season almost saw the Magpies finish sixth outside the Champions League qualification places. Losing 1-0 at home to Everton, Eddie Howe’s side were fortunate that Manchester United did them a favour by beating Aston Villa to clinch fifth spot on goal difference.

But they do say that the table doesn’t lie and Newcastle secured a return to Europe’s top table on merit. A slow start to the campaign was cancelled out by a blistering December and January before United managed to see out the job, despite fears they’d be suffering a hangover from their Carabao Cup success.

Newcastle now turn their attention to the summer transfer window, where they hope to be busy. Having recently resorted to selling players as opposed to buying players to comply with Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the club are understood to be in a healthy financial position.

How much prize money did Howe’s side earn from the season gone? The Athletic has provided an estimate based on several financial factors to determine how much each Premier League side will pocket from the 2024-25 season:
