Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim sends a clear message by demanding that Bruno Fernandes stay amid interest from Al Hilal. Amorim has told the club to find other ways to make money by rejecting any potential big offer for Fernandes.
United are planning a squad overhaul under Amorim after their embarrassing campaign last season, finishing 16th in the Premier League. Furthermore, the Red Devils lost the Europa League final to rival Tottenham Hotspur, who finished 17th in the Premier League.
Man United have lost a major source of revenue by failing to qualify for the next season’s Champions League competition. Without any European competition in their next season’s fixtures also allows them to focus on the Premier League, prioritising improvement.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim tells the club not to sell Bruno Fernandes amid interest from Al Hilal.
United need players like Fernandes to oversee the next chapter at the club as their consistently performing captain under Amorim. The 30-year-old playmaker made 57 appearances for United last season in all competitions, scoring 19 goals and providing 20 assists.
Speaking about the future of Fernandes (via The Athletic), Amorim sent a clear message to United, demanding his stay amid interest from Al Hilal to pay £100m for him. He said:
“I don’t know for sure, but nobody knows. But I don’t think so. He is seeing us changing some actions to change all the things and I think he wants to stay. He is saying no to a lot of things. But he shows that he wants to win. He is really hungry. He is really good. He needs to be in the best league in the world. Yes, the club can find other ways to make money.
United are facing a major financial problem with inflated wage expenses and a limited transfer fund. The Red Devils have to sell their surplus players before buying the players that suit Amorim’s tactical style of play.
Many of these players lack interested suitors due to their huge salaries and poor past performance record at the club. In such a situation, foreign clubs could test United’s resolve by paying a massive amount of fee for established players.
