Everton could shock the PL by landing 'fantastic' defender after Fabrizio Romano update -…

Everton need to add players across their starting XI and squad this summer with plenty of work needing to be done.

The shackles are being taken off Everton following years of PSR worries on Merseyside.

David Moyes kept his end of the deal in keeping the Toffees afloat in the Premier League and now it is time for the Friedkins to step up.

After being appointed back in January, Moyes has been keen to sign a new full-back at Everton and this summer will provide him with that opportunity.

Everton have confirmed Ashley Young’s exit at the end of his contract on Merseyside, which only adds to the need to add more options.

A fresh update from Fabrizio Romano could now provide the Toffees with the perfect full-back to chase this summer.

Everton should make a move for Manchester City’s Kyle Walker

Everton have eyed Kyle Walker-Peters ahead of the summer as a potential option on a free transfer.

But it is the veteran defender, Walker, who could make a huge move from the Etihad Stadium this summer.

According to Romano, Walker is now set to leave City permanently having returned to Manchester following his loan spell with AC Milan.

“Kyle Walker will not be staying at AC Milan this summer. They had a buy option for Kyle Walker and they will not take the option. Walker returns to Manchester City,” said Romano.

“But he will not be staying at Manchester City. He will not be part of the squad for the FIFA Club World Cup. Walker is looking for a new solution and he will be one of the players to watch.”

The Friedkins are keen to make a statement signing this summer and although Walker may not be a huge money addition, he would certainly be a big name to land on Merseyside.

Walker has been perhaps the best right-back in Premier League history but his time at the Etihad is coming to an end.

Walker would provide Everton huge experience at right-back

Moyes will keep Seamus Coleman at Everton in some respect for the 2025/26 campaign.

However, it is clear the Irishman will not be playing much of a role on the pitch, and that is where Walker’s experience could come in handy.

Jake O’Brien really impressed under Moyes after being handed an opportunity in the starting XI.

But the youngster cannot get up and down the pitch in the same way which Walker has done for so many years now.

At 35, Walker is by no means a long-term solution, but he could certainly prove a smart addition to replace Young and potentially Coleman in the squad.

Some may feel Walker is declining, but he has remained playing at the top level with Milan following his England exit in January.

Pep Guardiola praised Walker as ‘fantastic’ and he could certainly offer an impressive addition for the Toffees ahead of the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
