Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Eberechi Eze several times over the past one month and according to Football Insider, the Lilywhites are planning to hold talks with the player’s representatives very soon.

The attacking midfielder has an €80 million release clause in his current contract and thanks to his performances this season, Eze has attracted a lot of attention. The Palace management were surprised that no club triggered his release clause last year but they are confident a repeat of the same won’t happen this summer.

Eberechi Eze has also communicated to the club that he wants to leave and he has also made it clear that he wants to play at the highest level. Manchester United have fallen out of this transfer race despite being linked with him simply because they have failed to qualify for Europe.

Will Eze agree to join Tottenham Hotspur?

The 26-year-old has been a top and consistent performer in the previous three seasons and the attacking midfielder will be a fine addition to Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

There’s minimal competition in the No. 10 role at Spurs with James Maddison their only creative playmaker so someone like Eberechi Eze can very easily move up the pecking order next season and replace the injury-prone Maddison.

Tottenham Hotspur have also qualified for the Champions League which means Eberechi Eze can fulfill his dream of playing with the Europe’s elites. Spurs won’t be highly competitive in Europe but with proper summer reinforcements, they can surely qualify for the knockout stages.

The midfielder will definitely prioritise a move to teams like Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool or Bayern Munich but if any concrete offers do not come, Eze won’t mind joining the North London outfit in the coming months.

Will of his preferred teams will come calling?

Eberechi Eze has made his ambitions very clear and both Arsenal and Liverpool are monitoring him very closely. Arsenal will not be very confident of signing the Crystal Palace star because they have Martin Odegaard in their squad and Eze will not want to compete with the Norwegian international.

Liverpool and Manchester City, however, can be ideal destinations for him because both of them need a world-class attacking midfielder next season, At City, Eze will have the chance to replace Kevin De Bruyne while at Anfield, he can easily push Szoboszlai down the pecking order.

Bayern Munich also hold a very strong interest in the midfielder and many experts think that the Bavarians have the best chance of signing him. If Bayern are ready to spend €80 million on him, the 26-year-old would love to join his former teammate Michael Olise at the Allianz Arena next campaign.

Out of all the interested clubs, Tottenham Hotspur are the only team who have decided to make contact with Eberechi Eze while the others are still playing the waiting game. The Lilywhites will hope to capitalise on this first-mover advantage and sign the midfielder.
