Manchester United have a lot of work to do this summer if they are to get anywhere near the top five next season.
The Red Devils have suffered a dismal season, finishing 15th in the Premier League table and failing to land a trophy.
Although Manchester United’s prestige isn’t what it used to be, they’re still a big name that should be able to attract top players.
Old Trafford legend Paul Ince has now urged the Red Devils to move for a £60million striker who Dwight Yorke once likened to himself.

Paul Ince thinks Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins would be good for Manchester United
Ince has spoken about Man United in an interview with The Telegraph this weekend, where he deemed their players “mentally weak”.
Ince also said the Red Devils “badly need more firepower” and said they need to go for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.
“They badly need more firepower,” Ince said of Man United.
“And I’m looking at someone like Ollie Watkins – a striker who can actually score goals – as a player United need to be going for.”

What Dwight Yorke has said about Ollie Watkins
Yorke, a legend for Man United and Aston Villa alike, spoke about Watkins last year, saying the England international reminds him of himself.
“I see a lot of myself in Ollie Watkins,” Yorke told FourFourTwo in September 2024. “He’s a creator, a dribbler and a finisher, a bit like I was back in the day.
“You saw from his number of goals and assists last term that he has a little bit of everything. His work ethic is also admirable.
“He’s a top, top player. You don’t get to that level, scoring that many goals and contributing creatively, unless you’re a fantastic footballer.”
Arsenal tried their luck with a £60million bid for Watkins in January, but they failed to land him and they appear to have moved on to other targets.
With that in mind, Man United could do worse than making an approach for a proven Premier League striker who has what it takes to drag the team back up the table.
