Arsenal winger Marquinhos is reportedly set to leave the club on a permanent deal for Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro.
The 22-year-old is currently in his fourth loan spell away from the Emirates Stadium, having previously spent time at Norwich City, Nantes and Fluminense before joining Cruzeiro in January.
Marquinhos has come up with one goal and one assist in 17 matches for his current club, and the Brazilian was due to return to Arsenal in December, when the Brazilian football season concluded.
However, Fabrizio Romano now reports that Marquinhos will not be heading back to North London and is instead set to join Cruzeiro on a permanent basis until the summer of 2028.
The 22-year-old will head for the Emirates exit door three years after joining in a £3m deal from Sao Paulo, and he was fast-tracked into the first team after immediately impressing at youth level.
Marquinhos made just six appearances for Mikel Arteta's side, though, scoring one goal and providing one assist in a 2-1 Europa League win over FC Zurich in September 2022.

Over in Germany, Borussia Dortmund are said to have held further discussions over a move for Sunderland starlet Jobe Bellingham during the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old has quickly become one of the hottest teenage properties in English football after helping the Black Cats achieve promotion to the Premier League for the 2025-26 campaign.
Bellingham managed four goals and three assists in 43 matches for Sunderland last season, as Regis Le Bris's side defeated Sheffield United 2-1 in the playoff final at Wembley.
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are said to have taken a liking to Bellingham, but according to the Daily Mail, Dortmund are accelerating their pursuit.
BVB's sporting director Sebastian Kehl is said to have held another round of discussions with the 19-year-old's camp, although Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig have also spoken with him.
However, Bellingham seems destined to follow the path created by older brother Jude Bellingham, who recorded 24 goals and 25 assists in 132 matches during his three years at Dortmund.

At the other end of the experience scale, veteran goalkeeper David de Gea has penned a new contract with Italian giants Fiorentina until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.
The former Manchester United man has found safe haven in Florence and shone during the 2024-25 season, keeping 11 clean sheets in 35 matches and helping Fiorentina reach the Conference League semi-finals.
Upon his arrival at Fiorentina last August, De Gea only penned a one-year agreement with the option of a further 12 months, meaning that he could have become a free agent at the end of this season.
However, Fiorentina have now confirmed that the Spaniard has signed a long-term extension for another three years, and La Viola could also extend his stay until 2029, just before his 39th birthday.
"ACF Fiorentina is pleased to announce that David De Gea's contract has been extended to June 30, 2028," a statement read. "The Spanish goalkeeper joined the club last summer, having previously played for Atletico Madrid and Manchester United. In his first season he made 42 appearances and kept 11 clean sheets."
De Gea had been a free agent for over a year before joining Fiorentina, prior to which he kept a club-record 190 clean sheets in 545 matches for Man United.

From a man staying in Italy to one potentially leaving Serie A, AC Milan left-back Theo Hernandez is said to be in direct talks to join Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal this summer.
The France international's future has been the subject of much speculation for a number of months, as he is about to enter the final year of his contract at San Siro, and talks over an extension have not led to a positive solution.
Manchester City and Real Madrid were formerly thought to have been the main contenders to sign Hernandez should he leave Milan, who could be pressured into a sale if he does not renew his deal.
However, a separate update from Romano claims that Al-Hilal are now discussing a deal for the 27-year-old, who has been identified as a priority target for the Middle Eastern giants.
There are still a few hoops to jump through, though, as Milan and Al-Hilal have not yet agreed a fee, and Hernandez himself is yet to say yes to the proposed switch.
The left-back came up with five goals and six assists in 49 matches for Milan during the 2024-25 season and boasts a total of 34 strikes and 45 helpers from 262 appearances for the Rossoneri overall.
