Atalanta star Ederson is a target for Manchester City, with them currently discussing a €70m deal for the midfielder.
That’s [according to journalist Jorge Nicola](https://x.com/jorgenicola/status/1928766656102203641), who reports that Manchester City are negotiating for the Brazilian while Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested in him.
Ederson has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, having impressed for the former Europa League winners since joining them from Salernitana in 2022.
He’s been a key player since then and earned plenty of admirers in England, particularly at Manchester City, where they’ve been credited with an interest for more than a year.
That interest has seemingly been revived this month as they plan for a big summer overhaul after a disappointing season. Indeed, a report yesterday stated that they were offering €50m for the midfielder. Atalanta were even eyeing Celtic’s Arne Engels as a replacement.
Nicola now reports that Manchester City are currently discussing a proposal that would be worth €70m with Atalanta. He offers nothing more than that, but says Liverpool, Bayern and Manchester United are in the picture too.
Now we’d question if Manchester City are really pushing this hard given, they signed Nico Gonzalez in January and are seemingly trying to get Tijani Reijnders from AC Milan as well.
Unless they are planning a complete overhaul of their midfield, that seems like overkill on their part, but their interest in Ederson is well established at this point.
