Liverpool have joined the race for 20 year old Spanish defender. The player has been long term target for Chelsea. However, he is likely to join German club over the Premier League sides.
Chelsea are desperate to sign some new defenders this summer. They will part ways with all Chalobah, Disasi and Veiga. In addition, they can also sell Badiashile for right offer. Lastly, they are worried about Fofana due to injury issues and hence can sell him too.
On the other hand, Liverpool are also willing to bring in some new defenders. They have extended the contract of Virgil van Dijk but he is edging close to the end of his career. Ibrahima Konate is linked with away moved whereas Quansah has failed to impress so far.
Liverpool join Chelsea in race for Spanish youngster
The star in question here is Cristhian Mosquera of Valencia. He is 20 years old and can play as both centre-back and right-back. Chelsea have been showing interest in Mosquera since a long time. According to Caught Offside, Liverpool have now joined the race for Mosquera.

But, the report states that Mosquera could be headed to RB Leipzig. The 20 year old feels that joining Leipzig is right move for him now rather than joining Premier League giants. He can play regularly at Leipzig which will be important for his improvement.
Mosquera is focused on playing regularly rather than joining top club for now. But if he decides otherwise, he can be a great addition to any of Chelsea or Liverpool. At the Blues, he will bring in stability as Reece James has been injury prone. At Reds, he can do similar job as Trent Alexander-Arnold has now left the club.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool can visit the deal again in future. But, they will now look at other options urgently. It will be interesting to see which defenders the Premier League giants will target. The transfer activity is likely to spike up in the coming days.
