Bruno Fernandes has released a cryptic 13-word message on his Instagram as Al-Hilal continue to push for the Manchester United star to join them this summer.
Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting CP in January 2020, after three standout seasons in Lisbon. Since then, he has consistently been the most influential player in every team he’s featured in, even alongside stars like Raphaël Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Fernandes thrived in an advanced role, often operating like a second striker and scoring freely, netting 12 goals in just 22 appearances in his debut campaign.
Erik ten Hag repositioned him as a more traditional No. 10, anchoring the midfield in a 4-2-3-1 setup where virtually every attack flowed through him.
At Sporting once more under Rúben Amorim, Fernandes has primarily played deeper, forming a double pivot with either Casemiro or Manuel Ugarte. Despite the more withdrawn role, he’s still managed an impressive 19 goals and 18 assists in 57 appearances this season.
Now, his future is uncertain, with Al-Hilal reportedly eyeing a summer move for the United captain.
Fernandes releases cryptic 13-word message
There has been a wide-ranging debate regarding whether Fernandes should accept the mega offer from Al-Hilal, with his wages reportedly set to be around £700,000 a week over a three-year period if he accepts the move to Saudi Arabia.
Aside from Fernandes’ mega offer, it has also been stated by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that the Saudi Pro League side are prepared to pay whatever it takes to secure him, with other reports claiming their opening offer to United will cost around £85 million.
Amid all the speculation, Fernandes has released a cryptic message on his Instagram story that reads: “If you tried and failed, congratulations! There are people who don’t even try.”
Some have theorised that this may be an acceptance from Fernadnes that he tried his best at United and may now move on to a new project, while others believe it could be a message from the United captain that he will continue to try and help rebuild the fallen club at Old Trafford.
Al-Hilal make fresh demand to Fernandes
Initially, it was reported last week that Al-Hilal had handed the 30-year-old a 72-hour deadline to make his final decision. However, following positive talks with his agent, Miguel Pinho, they have issued an extension but demanded his mind up soon.

According to the Daily Mail, Al-Hilal have given Fernandes one week to make a decision over leaving United before they walk away from the deal. He will now speak to his family and his agent, Pinho, before making a final decision.
Al-Hilal will push the player for a response to their offer to Fernandes before approaching Amorim’s club with an offer in the region of £100m.
They are becoming impatient as they have other targets and could pull the plug before the end of the one-week deadline if they sense that he is leaning towards staying.
