Manchester United came away from their post-season tour of Asia with one win from two matches.
After losing 1-0 against ASEAN All-Stars, Manchester United beat Hong Kong 3-1 thanks to a brace from Chido Obi and a stoppage-time header from Ayden Heaven.
The former Arsenal duo took advantage of their time on the post-season tour and will be part of Ruben Amorim’s plans for the pre-season tour of the United States.
Ineos hope that the post-season tour of Asia will earn the club £8 million, which could prove beneficial in the transfer window ahead of a season without European football.
United will not be able to offer new signings Champions League football for at least another year, and that has significant implications for the club’s spending power.
Perhaps it’s all the more reason for Amorim to invest in quality young players.

Harry Amass hails Chido Obi after Hong Kong brace
Several United youngsters stood out on tour, including Harry Amass, but they will all be hoping for more chances when Amorim’s squad regroups later this summer.
Now, it’s time for a lot of United’s first-team players to relax for the rest of the summer. Some players will be involved in internationals, such as Bruno Fernandes, who has a Nations League semi-final to play against Germany next week.

Amass did some media duty before the squad left Asia and reflected on Obi scoring a brace after waiting for his first senior goal.
The promising left-back admitted that Obi had been the brunt of jokes in the United dressing room, presumably among the younger players, but they knew it was only a matter of time before he would find the back of the net.
When asked whether there was banter with Obi after the match, Amass told MUTV: “Of course. We were waiting for him to score.
“Obviously, we know he’s a great finisher and he’s dangerous inside the box, so we bantered him for a bit. Now he’s got his two goals and he can be happy.”
Chido Obi stats for Manchester United Academy
Although Obi has made eight appearances for United’s first-team, you get a better idea of his development when you see the numbers he produced at youth level.
Obi, 17, is on the cusp of United’s first-team and may be part of Amorim’s plans next season if Ineos fail to deliver in the transfer window.
Most of Obi’s appearances for United’s Academy came in the Under-18s, but he has made four appearances for the Under-21s this season.
