When is the Champions League 2025/26 draw as Inter Milan and PSG battle for glory

Inter Milan take on PSG in the Champions League final tonight

Inter Milan and PSG battle for Champions League glory in Munich tonight.

PSG go into the contest as favourites having knocked out Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal in this season's competition as well as defeating Manchester City in the League Phase. But Inter showed their credentials when beating Barcelona in a thrilling semi-final tie and tonight's showpiece promises to be an absorbing contest.

Manchester City will be watching on, with their European campaign ended by Real Madrid in the play-off round.

But the Blues will be back in the Champions League next season having finished third in the Premier League following their final day win at Fulham.

City will not need to play through the qualifying rounds and will go directly into the league phase for next season's competition.

That will see them play eight fixtures with the teams divided into four pots of nine teams based on their UEFA club coefficient except for the Champions League holders - either Inter Milan or PSG - who will be the top seed in pot one.

The draw will take place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on August 28. The teams will be manually drawn before automated software selects their eight different opponents at random and also decides which matches are home and away.

Each team will play two opponents from each pot, one at home and one away. Teams cannot play sides from their own domestic league - meaning City will not play Liverpool, Arsenal or any other Premier League outfit - while clubs will play a maximum of two teams from one other country.

The new-look league phase sees the top eight sides qualify for the knockout stages with those finishing between 9th and 24th entering a play-off round. The bottom eight teams are eliminated from Europe altogether.

City won the competition for the first time in 2023 but have failed to get past the quarter-finals stage since then.
