Chelsea are plotting a summer move to sign Everton star. But, it will not be easy for the Blues to do so. The player is highly rated by the Toffees.
Chelsea are headed for another big summer window. They will back Enzo Maresca who has completed his task of qualifying for UCL. The Italian wants new additions in all parts of the pitch. But, the Blues have defensive signings as the top priority this summer.
The West London club will part ways with Disasi, Chalobah and Veiga. In addition, they will also sell Badiashile for right offer. Lastly, they are worried about Fofana due to injuries. Hence, atleast 2-3 new defenders are expected to land at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea showing interest in Everton defender
According to Daily Mail, the Blues are plotting a summer move for Jarrad Branthwaite. But, Everton boss David Moyes is unwilling to part ways with the defender. However, the Blues can convince the player who can then force a move. The Toffees will find it hard to hold the player against his will.

If Branthwaite does decide to leave, Everton will surely demand a hefty fee. They rejected a bid worth around £50 million from Man United last summer. At that time, the Toffees wanted £70 million for the talented defender.
Branthwaite is only 22 years old but is one of the best defenders in Premier League. He has played 73 games for Everton since last season. He has also made his debut for England national team. Branthwaite surely has a very bright future ahead of him and can soon join one of the top clubs in Europe.
Chelsea do have other options available in the market. They rate Marc Guehi very highly and are keen to welcome him back. On the other hand, they are also willing to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax. Their transfer activity is likely to step-up in coming days.
