‘Why?’ Alan Brazil can’t believe Arsenal haven’t gone and signed £30m player

Arsenal’s main priority in this summer transfer window is to sign a new striker.

Indeed, there’s no doubt about it, the Gunners need a new number nine.

Arsenal will sign a striker this summer, but as their rivals make some serious moves, Mikel Arteta still doesn’t have his number nine.

Florian Wirtz is set for Liverpool, Matheus Cunha is set for Manchester United, but, as of yet, Arsenal haven’t bolstered their attack.

Arsenal are looking at Benjamin Sesko, but they haven’t made their move yet.

Meanwhile, Liam Delap is set for Chelsea, and speaking on TalkSPORT, Alan Brazil has questioned why Arsenal aren’t getting involved in this transfer.

Alan Brazil baffled Arsenal haven’t signed Liam Delap

Brazil spoke about Delap’s move to Chelsea, questioning why Arsenal haven’t gone for the Englishman.

Delap has just had a standout season for Ipswich, and he was available at a bargain £30m fee.

Meanwhile, Sesko is set to cost £67m.

However, Arsenal have instead let Chelsea have a free run at Delap, something they might later regret.

“Why would Arsenal not take a chance with Delap? He’s young, he’s strong, he’s quick, he’s scored goals. I think he got double figures this year,’ Brazil said.

“Would he go straight into the side? I think they have someone who’s ready to go,” Parlour said.

“Yeah, but they’ll have to spend £100m or 80m,” Brazil said.

Liam Delap compared to Benjamin Sesko

Brazil is shocked that Arsenal didn’t go for Delap, and it’s easy to understand why.

Arsenal need a number nine, but, for some reason, they’ve completely neglected what is a great opportunity on the market here.

Instead, Arsenal appear to be focused on Benjamin Sesko, and, looking at the stats, it’s hard to understand why.

Of course, Sesko has big potential, but Delap has already shown what he can do in the Premier League and he was available at a fraction of the price.

Arsenal may well live to regret not going for Delap, especially if he hits the ground running at Chelsea and becomes a star at Stamford Bridge.
