Report: Arsenal now eyeing move to sign ‘special’ winger alongside Williams and Rodrygo

Arsenal could look to sign Brighton and Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh in the coming transfer window, according to reports - with Mikel Arteta keen on bolstering his attacking ranks to end a 22-year wait for the Premier League title.

The Gunners faltered with injuries in the second half of the season, failing to catch Liverpool after their speedy start to the season, and that means that recruits will be needed. With that in mind, Minteh has been linked and Arteta could look to close a surprise deal over the summer months.

Six goals and four assists in just 20 starts for the south coast club have seen the Gambian prodigy blossom under Fabian Hurzeler, seeing them finish eighth and only four points away from Europa Conference League football behind Nottingham Forest.

A rapid turn of pace, close dribbling and a key eye for goal means it's been a strong first campaign for the 'special' youngster, and that has seen Arteta's men fall onto the list of interested outfits.

Bukayo Saka needs a backup on the right-wing, with the Gunners having suffered in that area of the pitch once the England star was ruled out for months around the Christmas mark - and, despite links to the likes of Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Spain hero Nico Williams, the Emirates Stadium side have struggled massively to add a suitable backup for their homegrown star with Raheem Sterling having faltered on his loan deal from Chelsea.

Minteh would be a long-term option and offer suitable backup for Saka when needed, having already proven his worth in the Premier League for Brighton. The winger has also featured in the Champions League during his loan spell at Feyenoord, where he scored 11 goals in just 37 games for the Eredivisie giants under current Liverpool boss Arne Slot - and that could see him become a star player in north London over the coming years if he does make the move to the capital.
