Ruben Amorim will use the summer window as an opportunity to trim the fat on his Manchester United squad and streamline his side for a reduced fixture load. United played 60 competitive matches across the gruelling campaign that has just been and could play as few as 40 across all competitions next season.
United will not play in European competition after they lost the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur and simply do not need as many players as they did last season. It means United will accelerate plans to overhaul their squad and are open to offers for just about every senior player.
There are still several stars Amorim does not want to lose though, with some key players viewed an integral part of their rebuild. Here is a look at the current state of the United squad and what we expect to happen with their first-team players this summer.
