Arsenal have welcomed a new generation of footballing talent to their ranks, signing Thiago Sterling, the son of England international Raheem Sterling into their academy at under-9 level.
Thiago’s move to the Gunners’ prestigious Hale End setup was confirmed by Sterling’s partner, Paige Milian, who shared the news on social media. “Beyond proud of my first-born son Thiago for signing with the Arsenal academy,” she wrote. “The growth, dedication, and hard work you’ve shown over the past year has been incredible to watch. You’ve earned this.”
The youngster’s promising journey in north London begins just as his father’s brief stint at Arsenal comes to an end. Raheem Sterling joined the Gunners on loan from Chelsea on deadline day last summer, brought in to provide competition for Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank. However, the former Manchester City star struggled to make an impact, starting just seven Premier League matches and registering a solitary goal across all competitions.

With his season-long loan expiring and Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca still in charge at Stamford Bridge, Sterling’s long-term future remains uncertain. Reports suggest the 29-year-old could be on the move again this summer, with several clubs abroad showing interest.

Despite his limited contributions in north London, Sterling’s legacy may continue through his son. Thiago has already experienced life at the Emirates, having served as Bukayo Saka’s mascot during a Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain last October.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal and Chelsea defender William Gallas has weighed in on Raheem Sterling’s future, suggesting the winger should seek a move where he can secure regular playing time.

“I think it’s time for a fresh challenge for Raheem Sterling,” Gallas told Casino Games. “He had the chance to show what he could do at Chelsea and then at Arsenal, but it hasn’t happened. He needs to go somewhere he will get more opportunities because, even with injuries and rotation at Arsenal, Mikel Arteta hasn’t given him that.”
Gallas pointed to a lack of squad rotation as a factor in Sterling’s struggles and named Fulham as a potential next destination.
“Maybe he will want to stay in the Premier League and in London. He’s 30 now, but maybe a club like Fulham could give him that opportunity and more chances to play. I’m curious to see what happens next,” he added.
