Tyler Dibling is unlikely to leave Southampton in this summer’s transfer window unless their stance changes regarding his lofty price tag.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 19-year-old could continue to develop his game at St Mary’s.
Multiple Premier League clubs have expressed doubts about whether Dibling would be worth the money the Saints are set to demand for his sale.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 4 April that Southampton will demand £100million for Dibling, deterring interest from the likes of Man City.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side are among a number of clubs set to keep tabs on his progress over the coming season with his contract set to expire in 2027.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider as early as October that “major” Premier League clubs are tracking Dibling’s performances, with scouts spotted at St Mary’s.

Southampton to keep Tyler Dibling after surprise twist
Brown told Football Insider in March that Southampton are preparing to lose Dibling as part of a mass exodus alongside the likes of Aaron Ramsdale.
However, the former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has explained there is a growing confidence that he could stay for at least another year in what would amount to a shock twist.
“I think a few clubs have doubts about Tyler Dibling,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s a talented young player in terms of his control and manipulation of the ball.
“But he’s not as quick as you’d like, he doesn’t have that burst and change of pace that a lot of the top clubs are looking for in their wide players.
“Look at Arsenal with Saka, City with Doku, Liverpool with Salah.
“All of those players have that quick change of pace to breeze past a man, Dibling hasn’t got that.
“And I’m not quite sure the other strings to his bow are at that top, top Premier League level.
“He’s still only young and he’s got a lot of attributes which I hear the likes of Man City and Tottenham admire, so I have no doubt they’ll still be interested.
“But they’re not going to pay the sort of money Southampton are looking for at the moment.
“At the moment, I think he’s more likely to stay there and develop his game for another season and then the club will evaluate their position next summer.
“He’s not going to go in to a City, Tottenham, United and hold down his place in the starting XI.
“At the moment, it’s about the fact that he might develop into a top player, but that word ‘might’ isn’t something you spent silly money on.”

Aston Villa, West Ham, Leeds chase Matheus Fernandes deal
Another player who has been linked with a move away from Southampton this summer is Matheus Fernandes, who was named as their Player of the Season.
Football Insider revealed on 23 May that Aston Villa, West Ham and Leeds want Fernandes, and are eyeing a deal which could be worth around £25million.
The 20-year-old scored twice and assisted four goals in 36 Premier League games this season despite the Saints’s dismal campaign.
Leeds will be aiming to avoid that same fate next season upon their promotion from the Championship, and are eyeing Fernandes as an option to improve their side.
