Nottingham Forest accept £12m offer for player ignored by Nuno, but he's not agreed to leave…

Nottingham Forest are going to be in the market for a number of new players this summer, with European football on the horizon next season for the first time in 30 years.

Igor Jesus is close to joining Forest. The Botafogo striker has agreed to sign for the football club after the Club World Cup, and it would appear that the Reds are very keen to bolster their firepower.

Other areas of the pitch will be strengthened too. Forest have looked at Jaka Bijol from Udinese, and it seems as though every single day sees a different player linked with a move to the City Ground.

In order for more players to arrive on Trentside, it would appear as though the revolving door will need to be going in the opposite direction, with some players likely to depart the club.

Palmeiras trying desperately to sign Forest winger Ramon Sosa

It had been claimed that Sosa wants to stay at Forest but it would appear that Palmeiras simply won’t give up the chase for the Paraguayan winger who started just one Premier League game during 2024/25.

According to journalist Jorge Nicola, Palmeiras have actually reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest but the player is yet to say yes to their offer with the winger wanting to stay in the Premier League.

Sosa signed for the club from Argentine outfit Talleres, and at 25-years-old, it was anticipated that the international player would be an important part of the team.

His time at Forest simply hasn’t worked out, with Nuno Espirito Santo choosing to change his system around in the absence of first-choice wingers Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.

Sosa scored three goals for Forest during his maiden season, with two of those coming in the FA Cup when Sosa was given a chance to star against Luton Town and Exeter City.

Forest must consider Sosa sale

Given that Sosa isn’t really considered in the bracket of young and one for the future, it’s very important that Forest try to get the winger out of the club this summer if the deal is right for all parties.

Sosa is unlikely to play much again next season, and leaving feels like his only option right now, with Forest almost certain to sign at least one more winger during the transfer window.

Palmeiras would represent a good club for Sosa to head to, and he must seriously think about what the best thing to do in terms of his career might be.

Sosa has played pretty well when called upon at Forest, but with the club now holding loftier ambitions to become an established top-half team, the Reds are unlikely to give him much more game time next season.
