‘Incredible’ star has now decided which club he wants to leave Man United for - report

After burning bridges with Manchester United earlier this month, Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly chosen the club he wants to join this summer. The 20-year-old was dropped to the bench for the Red Devils' Europa League final loss to Tottenham and played just 19 minutes, sparking a major fallout.

His brother - who also serves as his agent - took a veiled swipe at manager Ruben Amorim on social media, while Garnacho aired his frustrations in a scathing post-match interview with Spanish media. Within a week, tensions boiled over, culminating in a heated training ground confrontation that saw Amorim inform Garnacho he should look for a new club this summer.

Despite the turmoil, the Argentine winger - set to leave United with 26 goals and 22 assists in 144 senior appearances - has attracted strong interest from clubs across Europe. Now, it seems he’s made up his mind about where he wants to go next.

Alejandro Garnacho Interested In Chelsea Move

The Blues have held a long-standing admiration for the youngster

According to The Sun, Garnacho is eager to join Chelsea in the coming weeks. He’s previously been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge after his representatives were spotted attending a Blues match earlier this season.

While Napoli have also shown interest, the Argentine star has reportedly instructed his agent to make it clear to new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca that he wants to stay in the Premier League. A source told the newspaper:

“Alejandro [Garnacho] knows the Premier League is the best in the world. And while he has had some good moments at United, he wants to establish himself as a world star. England is the best place to do that and Chelsea have assembled a lot of good young players.”

Described as “incredible” last season by Rasmus Hojlund, Garnacho clearly believes he should be the main man at Man United. Alongside his frustration with how Amorim is running things at Old Trafford, it’s that unwavering self-belief that now appears to be fuelling his exit from the Theatre of Dreams.

Chelsea’s qualification for the Champions League - alongside their Europa Conference League triumph - makes them an enticing destination ahead of the summer transfer window. But what Garnacho may be turning a blind eye to is the reality behind the Stamford Bridge curtain. Under Todd Boehly’s devil-may-care regime, the Blues have developed a habit of flipping talent faster than a London property developer. And their track record with wingers is patchy at best.

Mykhailo Mudryk, Christopher Nkunku, Jadon Sancho, Joao Felix, and Pedro Neto are just a few of the wide men in the mix - and none have managed to fully stake their claim. If Garnacho makes the move, he’ll be joining a long queue, and a risky one at that.
