Kevin Garnett urges Celtics to keep key player this offseason

Kevin Garnett has urged the Boston Celtics to prioritize keeping a key player this offseason. Speaking on his podcast, Garnett highlighted how this player’s health and presence make the Celtics’ offense nearly unstoppable.

The Boston Celtics are heading into a crucial offseason, with several key decisions looming. One of the biggest questions is the future of Kristaps Porzingis, who enters the final year of his contract and has been linked to trade rumors.

Legend Kevin Garnett made his stance clear on his “Ticket & The Truth” podcast, emphasizing that the Celtics can’t afford to lose Porzingis.

“You gotta bring Porzingis back, man,” Garnett said. “Porzingis makes it all unguardable. When Porzingis is (in there) and everybody’s healthy — he wasn’t healthy at all at the end. He couldn’t even get a prognosis on what was going on.”

Garnett highlighted how Porzingis’ presence creates matchup nightmares for opponents, making life easier for stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Unfortunately, Porzingis battled a virus toward the end of the season, which hampered his play during the playoffs. He averaged just 7.7 points per game on 31.6 percent shooting during Boston’s postseason run.
