Real Madrid knows how it feels to win the Champions League, and now PSG does too. After last night's huge win, the Parisians want to finalise a deal for a Real Madrid transfer target.
Watching Luis Enrique achieve success is never nice for any Real Madrid fan. The turncoat who pledged his loyalty to Barcelona, despite everything Real Madrid did for him during his playing days, has just lifted another Champions League trophy.
Real Madrid doesn't need to be bitter about clubs from different countries winning the old Big Ears trophy. Ignoring who was in charge of PSG's first win, they deserved to lift the trophy after all of their hard work this season.
Well, PSG's resurge is not over yet. In true Enrique fashion, he is looking to haunt Real Madrid away from the pitch too.
Real Madrid fans won’t like who PSG is trying to steal after UCL win
According to an early morning update from Fabrizio Romano, PSG is determined to finalise a deal for River Plate teenager Franco Mastantuono. Talks between PSG and Mastantuono have been ongoing for weeks.
Of course, that's a name that Real Madrid fans will recognise. Real Madrid has consistently been linked with a move for the young sensation.
Fans shouldn't expect a finalisation anytime soon. Indeed, Romano claims that PSG anticipate other European clubs to try their luck too. While Real Madrid isn't listed (no team other than PSG is), we wouldn't put it past Madrid from trying.
All that being said, while it's not nice to see a transfer target linked to another club, it's not over for Real Madrid. Heck, they might not even see Franco Mastantuono as a player they legitimately want to sign.
As it stands, Real Madrid needs a midfielder who can control the ball and aid buildup play. This, honestly, has been missing since Toni Kroos left the club and it will only be exacerbated with no Luka Modric.
Mastantuono has huge potential and, to be frank, he probably will sign for Real Madrid on a free transfer at some point down the line. Right now, though, Angelo Stiller should be the guy Madrid pursues.
Best of luck in developing our future players, Enrique. Congrats on the Champions League win, I guess.
