David Moyes is well underway in his preparations to strengthen his Everton side for next season.
In what will be The Friedkin Group’s first proper transfer window, the Blues can finally look forward to spending some money to bring new faces into the side.
The Toffees have already opted to make Carlos Alcaraz’s loan move permanent and another midfielder is now on the boss’ list of targets too.

Everton want James McAtee
With resources at Goodison Park having been limited for some time, it has largely been the same spine of a side that has carried the Blues through.
However, since the takeover, Moyes now has the ability to extend his search and refresh the squad that he has available.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
A key focus for the Scotsman is bringing down the average age of his squad and with the exits of Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia and Abdoulaye Doucoure all confirmed, he is already on his way to doing so.
The next step is bringing in a new generation of youthful talent and one man who could be part of that is James McAtee.
According to the Mail on Sunday (1 June, page 89), the Manchester City youngster is attracting interest ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Toffees being one name on the list.
Gaining his services will be no easy task, though, with Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham also credited with interest, as well as three Bundesliga clubs.

McAtee would be a strong signing for Everton
As Moyes looks to kickstart a new era at Everton, both on and off the pitch, this is exactly the type of signing that reflects that shift.
McAtee has already impressed at England under-21s level, and is a player who certainly looks to be on the way up, making him a strong acquisition at this time.
The youngster tallied three goals for Manchester City in the Premier League this season, but had just 15 appearances.
Competition Appearances Goals
Premier League 15 3
FA Cup 4 3
Champions League 5 1
McAtee has shown positive signs at Manchester City.
Therefore, McAtee is likely to be keen on making a move away from the Etihad in the hope of increasing his minutes and becoming a regular Premier League starter.
While the competition for his signature may be fierce, if game time is the driving force and Everton show their intentions of being a rising side, it could become an attractive move.
