The 33-year-old had been at the Kent side since January 2023, having joined from Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee.

Hawkins was placed on the transfer list by the Gills last summer, but featured 27 times and scored once as they finished 17th in the fourth tier in 2024/25.

During his two-year spell at Priestfield Stadium, he netted eight goals in 74 games. He is among seven players released by Gareth Ainsworth's side.

The veteran frontman spent one season at Portman Road, after being signed by Paul Lambert in the summer of 2020.

Hawkins made just 23 appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal, before departing to join the Stags in June 2021.
