Celtic supporters will be hearing a lot from Jeremie Frimpong next season.
Frimpong has officially joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen, after spending four years at the German club, including winning the Bundesliga title under the stewardship of Real Madrid’s new boss, Xabi Alonso.
The Dutch defender had joined Leverkusen from Celtic in 2021, and despite his short stint in Glasgow, he was a popular player at the club, and he has continued to rise in his game.
The 24-year-old was just a fresh-faced teenager when he first donned the green and white colours after joining from Manchester City’s academy.
Celtic was Frimpong’s first step into the big time, feeling the pressure of having to win every week and lifting silverware.
And that shouldn’t be forgotten!

Jeremie Frimpong links up with Celtic hero Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool
Frimpong will now link up with Celtic hero Virgil van Dijk at Anfield, after they won the Premier League title this season under Arne Slot.
After the Frimpong news came through, the SPFL’s official page was keen to pay homage as to where the majority of Liverpool’s backline was made.
They posted three images of Frimpong and van Dijk – in Celtic colours – as well as Andy Robertson, who is a boyhood fan, representing Dundee United, and how they were ‘made in the SPFL’.

Frimpong’s Celtic and Leverkusen career in numbers
Celtic fans won’t be surprised by the levels Frimpong has reached because he showcased serious speed, one-touch play and ball-carrying ability during his time at Parkhead.
The only disappointment was the fact that he didn’t stay longer, but many understand the club’s model, and how such players are moved on for profit.
Either way, Frimpong has seriously upped his goal involvements since developing at Celtic.
