Report: Wolves star spotted checking out of hotel this morning with Molineux exit seemingly now …

Wolves fans may not have much longer to wait until an official announcement is made regarding Matheus Cunha’s exit from the club.

Over the last couple of weeks, speculation has been rife about the Brazilian’s future.

It was claimed Cunha was closing in on a move to Manchester United, and that an agreement on personal terms was imminent.

In recent days it has been a bit quiet on the situation, with Cunha apparently waiting on a new visa ahead of his proposed move to United.

But it’s still a question of when, and not if, a move happens.

And the latest development with Matheus Cunha suggests an announcement could be very close.

United are set to trigger Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause.

Initially, the Red Devils were looking to pay that clause in five installments.

But Wolves declined that proposal, insisting it needed paying in three. It is thought United will now do that.

The wheels are very much in motion, and this morning, Cunha was spotted outside the Lowry hotel in Manchester.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Cunha was checking out of the hotel with his family.

The publication say Cunha was expected to dine at the Ivy on Saturday night, ‘but only the players’ representatives and United’s director of recruitment, Christopher Vivell, were spotted’.

From the hotel, it is believed Cunha then headed to the airport as he is now linking up with the Brazil squad for the games against Ecuador and Paraguay.

Early Cunha sale is good work by Wolves

It seems now that Cunha’s transfer to United is fairly imminent, and the club deserve credit for getting it sorted quickly.

It’s a huge summer for the club, so an early sale of the Brazilian was always going to be important, rather than it dragging on.

Appearances – 36

Goals – 17

Assists – 6

Wolves must now use those Cunha funds wisely.

Obviously, the club will only be getting the first installment, but Wolves have shown they can spend that kind of money well, with the likes of Emmanuel Agbadou and Andre proving to be really great additions.
