Caoimhin Kelleher is expected to leave Liverpool this summer and Brentford is one of the teams to have taken a look at the Republic of Ireland shot-stopper.
Now, a deal could be a little bit closer with Brentford having agreed to sell current number one Mark Flekken to Bayer Leverkusen— the club that has just sold Jeremie Frimpong and could soon lose Florian Wirtz too — with Thomas Frank's side searching for a replacement.
According to Sky Germany, Brentford has agreed to send Flekken to Leverkusen for a fee of around $11.3 million (£8.4 million). It is "considered a done deal", and the player will now have his medical.
Asked by Optus Sport whether he still plans to leave the club for pastures new, Kelleher expressed his ambitions after the final game of the season last weekend. "Yeah, yeah definitely," he said.
"I've said it before as well, I feel like I'm good enough to be a No.1 and I feel like I'm good enough to play week in, week out. That's what I'm looking to do. This season I was lucky enough to play a lot of games but it's definitely something I'm looking at."
The Reds will demand a fee of more than $27 million (£20 million) for Kelleher's services. This is despite the 26-year-old only having one more year left on his contract.

As for a replacement, Liverpool has already signed Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia. He will arrive this summer to bolster the goalkeeping ranks.
"They are looking at me as the Liverpool goalkeeper for the next 10 years," he said recently. "So my next step will be the same as it was in Valencia, that I go and prove myself and show what I can do.
"The main thing is patience, training, and hard work. Everything else will come. I'm not considering another loan.
"I will spend next season at Liverpool. I think it will be good and training with Alisson will help me grow and gain experience."

Kelleher has played 67 times for Liverpool so far but only 25 of those matches have come in the Premier League. His only chances in big league or Champions League games have tended to come when Alisson Becker has been injured.
Liverpool.com says: It is definitely the right time for Kelleher to move on. As he has made clear himself, he is good enough to be a number one somewhere and is at the point in his career where he shouldn't be a second string option.
Brentford is one option for Kelleher, but others are interested too. Even the likes of Chelsea and Spurs have been linked with a move for him in the last few months, though a move to Frank's side might be a more likely outcome.
