‘I know I’ll be at Barca next season’ - Ter Stegen reacts to Garcia talk

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has sent out a strong message on his future amid speculation he could be sold if Joan Garcia arrives from Espanyol.

The Catalans are said to be closing in on a deal for Garcia, and the thinking seems to be that he will be No. 1 if he does join Hansi Flick’s side.

Ter Stegen is currently on international duty with Germany and was asked about the speculation at a press conference.

Here’s what he has had to say:

“Nobody has spoken to me. I know I’ll be in Barcelona next year,” he told reporters.

“Barça is one of the biggest clubs, and competition is normal.

“For me, the situation isn’t changing. I’m extremely excited about next season with a team that’s very young, dynamic, and hungry.”

If Garcia arrives then he may well have to battle Ter Stegen for the goalkeeper’s jersey. Barca may also have Wojciech Szczęsny in the squad too, as it’s been reported he wants to stay after being offered an extension.
